The Wide Open Shock Advantage:
- High Quality Materials – We use only the highest grade, highest quality materials for superior strength properties to increase longevity
- Friction Reducing Processes – Hard chromed piston rod, microcrack chromed surface process, and ultra precision vertical polishing ensure smooth contact between piston rod and seal.
- Premium Seals – High quality Japanese multi lip oil seals to reduce friction between the piston rod and seal is designed to isolate external dirt and grime.
- Prevention Lubrication – Pressurized N2 gas with high performance anti-foam and anti-shear used to reduce internal wear.
- Engineered to perfection – Seamless cylinder and sleeves to reduce possible splitting and ensure close contact between the piston and cylinder eliminates the chance of leaks, and to obtain a stable dampening force.
- Springs 10% stronger than OE- Our engineers have designed our shock springs to be 10% stronger than OE to insure greater stability and a firmer ride.
- ALL Wide Open shocks are monotube design, some with reservoir options.
Monotube Shock design Advantages
In a monotube shock, the oil and gas chambers are separated by a floating piston. There is no aeration or foaming, and the valving is more responsive. Higher gas pressure offers additional resistance, giving the monotube variable for tunability. Increased performance is automatic!
Since the gas itself becomes part of the spring action, it compresses over smaller bumps and accelerates through bigger hits, which improves control and response.
Monotubes have a larger surface area to spread the load, distributing pressure evenly over the entire shock and resulting in more efficiency and better performance.
When it comes to performance, feel, and reliability, monotube shocks are the choice for superior performance:
- Increased damping force
- Increased heat dissipation
- Our free-floating piston stops the gas and oil from mixing
- Instantly changes from smooth to stiff suspension
- Ease of installation
- Higher performance
